WATCH: Tom Brady says he’s ‘getting extra treatment’ on throwing elbow this week

Tom Brady says that he is receiving “extra treatment,” on his right elbow as the Patriots (10-1) prepare to visit the Texans (7-4) Sunday, Dec. 1.

The 42-year-old quarterback was listed as questionable heading into the Week 12 win versus the Cowboys (6-5) and did not complete practice Friday leading into the home game, according to PatriotsWire via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

On his weekly call with Westwood One radio Monday night, Brady explained his treatment process with personal trainer Alex Guerrero.

“I think sometimes it’s smart to try to get ahead of injuries,” Brady said to host Jim Gray during his 15-minute conversation to start Week 13. “I spent a lot of time with (Guerrero) getting extra treatment and did so after the game (Sunday) night, did so (Monday). I’ll be feeling good this week and be ready to go.”

The 20-year veteran NFL quarterback said that he has “gotten a little bit smarter about how to take care of (him)self,” over the course of his two-decade career and is being precautionary. Brady acknowledged that earlier in his career he would have been more likely to work and play through the injury.

Brady completed a mere 45.9% of his pass attempts Sunday (finishing 17 for 37) as the Pats beat the Cowboys 13-9. The six-time Super Bowl champ threw one touchdown and was sacked twice. The four-time Super Bowl MVP has his lowest season completion percentage since 2013 this year.
