WATCH: Tom Brady avoided reporters’ questions on his contract status

Tom Brady spoke with reporters Wednesday (a day ahead of schedule, according to Patriots.com) and was met with questions about his contract status.

It is unusual, compared to the rest of his career, that Brady is to this point in his contract without an extension, but the QB readily answers inquiries about the topic — but without giving any information out.

“Have I earned it? I don’t know. That’s up for talk show debate,” Brady said. “What do you guys think? Should we take a poll? Talk to Mr. Kraft. Come on. Like I said, we’ve got a great relationship. We’ll see how it goes.”

This time last season, Brady and the Patriots agreed to $5 million in performance-based incentives, but the QB did not earn any extra money off that particular set of added bonuses (despite winning the Super Bowl).

Perhaps the Pats will gift the G.O.A.T with a contract extension to celebrate his birthday; Brady turns 42-years-old Saturday.
