Todd Gurley has led the NFL in touchdowns and been a first-team All-Pro in each of the last two seasons, but based on the way everyone’s talking, you’d think he was a 32-year-old running back at the tail end of his career.
With concerns swirling about his knee, many people are worried he’ll never be himself again. Gurley hasn’t expressed the slightest bit of doubt all offseason, saying he’s feeling good and ready for the 2019 season.
There’s no doubt he’s heard the critics and doubters, and he’s ready to prove them wrong. Gurley released a hype video ahead of Week 1 and it’s sure to get the juices flowing.
Gurley will be watched closely by fans, fantasy players and defensive coordinators around the league as they try to see how much he’s used and just how impactful that knee issue is. He hasn’t played a game or really been hit hard since the Super Bowl, so it’s been a while since he took any meaningful reps.
There’s no way to simulate game action and Gurley is out to show there shouldn’t be any questions about his health.
