Watch: Todd Gurley practicing for Rams at training camp

Todd Gurley didn’t take part in any practices during organized team activities or minicamp this spring due to his lingering knee issue, but it didn’t take long for him to hit the field for training camp. Right out of the gate, Gurley was on the field for the first practice of camp.

He took a handoff from Jared Goff and cut at the line of scrimmage, showing some explosiveness after his cut.

He also caught a pass from Goff on a would-be screen.

It’s not much, but it’s more than Gurley did all throughout the spring. It’s good to see him back on the field again practicing with the team, even without pads and hitting.

He and Darrell Henderson shared reps at running back and even lined up at wide receiver a few times.

The Rams are still going to do what they can to preserve Gurley and make sure he’s fresh for the long haul, but he does need to get some work in during camp. This was a nice start for the two-time All-Pro back.

After practice, Sean McVay said Gurley “looked good” out there.
