Official weigh-ins for Thursday’s PFL 2019, Week 2 took place Wednesday in New York, and a few misses caused some shuffling of the card.
PFL 2019, Week 2 takes place Thursday at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., and features the 2019 season debuts of the lightweight and featherweight divisions.
In the night’s main event, 2018 featherweight champion Lance Palmer (17-3) meets promotional newcomer (12-1). The evening’s preliminary card airs on ESPN2, while the main card follows on ESPN+.
Brazilian featherweight Alexandre Bezerra (22-6) missed weight for his clash with Jeremy Kennedy (13-1). Featherweight Alexandre Almeida (20-9) also failed to make weight for his fight with Luis Rafael Laurentino (33-1). Bezerra and Almeida were pulled from the card, and Kennedy will now meet Laurentino on the preliminary card.
Additionally, Ronys Torres (37-6) was not licensed by the New York State Athletic Commission and has been ruled out of the 2019 PFL season. With the fight scrapped, opponent Ramsey Nijem (10-7) was awarded three points toward a potential playoff spot.
