Watch: Titans QB Ryan Tannehill’s WR highlights from college

Before he was the quarterback at Texas A&M and the eventual No. 8 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill played at wide receiver for the Aggies during his first two years in college.

And he was a pretty good playmaker, also. Tannehill totaled 101 receptions for 1,453 yards and nine scores over those two seasons, showing the kind of athleticism that makes him a threat beyond just throwing the football.

Before becoming quarterback around midway through 2010, Tannehill added another 11 catches for 143 yards and one touchdown to his college resume.

But Tannehill’s versatility didn’t stop at just quarterback and wide receiver. The former Aggie also attempted three punts and 115 total carries while at Texas A&M.

Here’s a look at Tannehill excelling at one of those areas: wide receiver.

Now we just need to get our hands on those punt highlights.

It’s understandable to get nervous whenever we see Tannehill absorb contact while making a play with his legs, but we have to remember that the 6-foot-4, 207-pound signal-caller is more prepared than most quarterbacks to take a hit thanks to his wide receiver days.

Regardless, Titans fans would prefer he keep the hits to a minimum no matter what, as he’s vital to Tennessee’s offensive success.
