Watch: Titans’ Derrick Henry returns to practice, looks ‘very good’

The Tennessee Titans are inching ever closer to getting their superstar running back, Derrick Henry, back for game action, which could happen as soon as Week 18, but is more likely to happen when the playoffs begin.

The first step was the team designating Henry to return from Injured Reserve on Wednesday, which opened his 21-day window to return to practice and be activated.

And it didn’t take long for Henry to return to practice, as he did so on the same day he was designated to return.

According to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, Henry looked “very good” in practice and didn’t look like someone who was returning from injury. In fact, Henry did all of the drills he would normally do, although he wasn’t going full speed, making big cuts, or taking contact.

Seeing this breeds a little hope that Henry might actually suit up in Week 18 against the Houston Texans, but we remain skeptical that will happen, even though Henry could use the game to shake off some rust.

In case you were wondering, Henry won’t be on the injury report when it is released later in the day, as he has yet to be activated to the 53-man roster. That move can happen at any time in the next 21 days.
