WATCH: Tiger Woods finishes Thursday at Memorial five back with 2-under 70

Tiger Woods finished the first round at the Memorial Tournament five back of leader Ryan Moore after shooting a 2-under 70 on Thursday.

Woods’ finish improved his mediocre day as he birdied three of the last five holes to finish the round. The group of Justin Rose, reigning tournament champion Bryson DeChambeau, and Woods finished the final nine on the clock after falling an entire hole behind the group ahead of them.

Furthermore, DeChambeau was given a bad time warning with four holes to play and another warning would’ve resulted in a one-stroke penalty. Woods believed his two-under-par day “was close to being easily a few more under par,” and he spent 30 minutes putting after the round.
