'Watch this space' - top fast food chain Leon is eyeing up a Bristol restaurant

To say we are blessed with choice when it comes to eating out in Bristol would be an understatement.

All over the city there are fantastic restaurants, covering everything from fancy Michelin starred establishments to places perfect for a quick bite to grab on the go.

But that isn't to say we have everything right on our doorstep. There are some popular chains which have branches in many major UK cities, but not Bristol.

Earlier this month we asked YOU what shops and restaurants Bristol needs and you came back with some fantastic suggestions.

A very common answer was Leon, the healthy fast food chain which has 55 outlets in the UK, 44 of which are in and around London.

The popular brand can also be found in Oxford, Birmingham and Manchester, with further sites planned for Northampton and Southampton.

However, it sounds like there could be good news on the horizon for Bristol too, as a spokesperson for the chain has hinted that the city is on their radar when we asked them if it is a possibility.

The spokesperson said: "We love the idea of moving into Bristol and have our eyes on the city for sure.

"Unfortunately right now it's just a bit too soon to say where or when that might be.

"All we can say for now is watch this space."

About Leon

Leon was founded by John Vincent and Henry Dimbleby in 2004 with the mission to make it easy for everybody to eat and live well.

It specialises in what it calls 'naturally fast food', which is 'food that tastes good, does you good, makes you feel good after you eat it, is kind to the planet and is affordable'.

The brand champions seasonal, Mediterranean-inspired and free-from food, becoming the first to display nutritional symbols on its menus.

It has an increasingly plant-based menu and recently launched its tenth 'Fast Vegan' cookbook.

Not only that but it places a big emphasis on sustainabiltiy and the environment, with 100% renewable energy used across its restaurants and a reduction in the amount of plastic used, in addition to the increasing number of plant-based dishes.

Leon in Bristol? We'll be keeping our fingers firmly crossed...
