WATCH Thief makes off with whopping sum of cash in brazen early evening robbery in East Wall

A brazen thief made off with a whopping sum of money in an early evening robbery of a service station in north Dublin.

The robber is understood to have swiped €1,400 from two tills of the Campus service station in East Wall shortly after 6pm yesterday evening.

Footage from the scene shows the thief racing from the store with a shopping bag stuffed full of cash.

He is believed to have fled through a nearby business park with the huge haul.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live no one has yet been arrested in connection with the incident.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating a robbery that took place at a retail premises on Eastwall Road shortly after 6pm yesterday evening, Saturday 23 rd January 2021.

"A sum of cash was taken during the incident. No arrests have been made, investigations ongoing."
