Watch: The wackiest play of the weekend (so far) was made in Texas

Consider this one of the most unusual plays of the high school football so far.

Thankfully, there is video of this crazy moment which, of course, is why we are here, right? The highlight came in a game featuring Tascosa High School (Amarillo, Texas) and Monterey (Lubbock, Texas).

In a Thursday night game, Tascosa won 33-21.

Looking to extend what was already a first down reception, a Monterey player attempted to leap Tascosa freshman defensive back Aushaun Wilson but instead was flipped over (mid-air) and he lost the football. The Monterey player showed some nice speed and very nearly cleared the tackle with the leap, but his right leg was taken out from under him in mid-air by Wilson,

The ball fell directly into the hands Zaquavious Edwards, a junior on Tascosa, who made his own leap on the return to evade a Monterey attempted tackle. He had a pretty nice return before being forced out of bounds.

Tascosa win’s saw them improve to 2-5 on the season. Monterey is now 2-4.

Pretty crazy stuff in Texas for sure.
