Watch: The ugly incident that happened with Newcastle players on train back from London

Newcastle United believe that their players have done nothing wrong after they were confronted on their way home from Arsenal.

Danny Rose, Nabil Bentaleb, Allan Saint-Maximin and Christian Atsu were in the first class carriage of an LNER train heading back to Newcastle after deciding not to board the team flight from Luton.

The players were given the option to take a train or fly with the team but some squad members did not want to experience a bumpy ride like they did on the journey from Tyneside on Saturday.

The players were approached by fans on the train and asked for pictures but one fan expressed his "disappointment" with the way the team performed as they were thrashed 4-0 by the Gunners.

United will make a swift return to the capital when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday in a crunch clash at Selhurst Park.

Palace have not won a game since Boxing Day and are in terrible form.
