ASTON MARTIN is celebrating its return to Formula One with a special Vantage model. The iconic British marque promises that the F1 Edition is the most track-focussed production version of the two-seater to date.
Based on the new official safety car for the global racing series, the road-going newcomer benefits from major chassis and aerodynamic work as well as a tweaked powertrain.
So the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is boosted by 25PS to 535PS – and the eight-speed automatic transmission has also been finessed.
Offered as a coupe or roadster, that results in 0-62mph times of 3.6 or 3.7 seconds and top speeds of 195 or 190mph respectively. Among the paintjob options – which all feature a dark grey graphic – is a Racing Green colour that mimics the grand prix machine.
Inside, buyers will find a new black leather and grey Alcantara upholstery, enhanced by lime green, black, grey or red contrast striping and stitching.
Other unique features include a special grille, 2x2 twill carbon-fibre detailing, quad exhausts and exclusive 21in alloy wheels.
Available to order now and priced from £142,000, deliveries of the rear-wheel-drive Vantage F1 are due to begin in May.
