Watch the moment bus floods in Nottinghamshire after heavy rain hit county

Shocking footage shows the moment a bus flooded with water after heavy rainfall battered Nottinghamshire.

The footage was sent to Nottinghamshire Live by passenger Rebecca Beardsley, who works at nineteen47, a planning and urban design consultancy based in Nottingham.

Shocked passengers saw the bus flood close to IKEA at Giltbrook Retail Park heading towards the city on Thursday afternoon (November 14).

Footage shows the bus driving through deep flood water, which is being filmed by Rebecca, before the camera pans towards water suddenly flowing up the aisle of the bus.

It comes after number of roads were closed due to significant flooding and rainfall hit large parts of the county.

In the city centre because of flooding in the Mansfield Road and Shakespeare Street area.

Gedling Police added the through road between Lambley and Lowdham is closed due to flooding and that drivers should find an alternate route. 

The A52 is closed northbound closed due to mud on road from B6003 Toton Lane (Bardills Island, Stapleford) to A6007 Ilkeston Road (Bramcote Island, Bramcote).
