Watch the rare Delahaye Type 135M set to sell for £300,000

THIS stunning and exclusive Delahaye drop-top is expected to fetch up to £300,000 at auction.

It’s thought to be one of just two of the French firm’s Type 135M “Grande Routiere” cars to wear this cabriolet coachwork by Swiss-based Graber.

The four-seater was supplied new in 1946 to an owner in Switzerland and it stayed there until the late 1990s, after which it underwent an extensive and sympathetic restoration.

Fitted with a 3.6-litre engine and four-speed gearbox, the car is said to be more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic and offers a rewarding and engaging driving experience.

There’s no doubting this particular car is in great condition – it was exhibited at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2017.

The 135M had a fine pre-war racing pedigree and this model has previously been entered in a number of rallies before being cosmetically enhanced.

The Delahaye is being sold by H&H Classics at its auction at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridgeshire, next Wednesday – go to handh.co.uk to find out more.

Head of sales Damian Jones said: “They say that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. Well, to our eyes at least, this 135M is one hell of a looker!”
