A magnitude-7.1 earthquake has hit Mexico, killing more than 200 people and trapping an unknown number of others beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.

Incredible photos and videos have captured the moment the quake struck, and its aftermath.

In one dramatic video, CCTV footage from a local shopping complex shows shoppers narrowly escape falling glass panes, which exploded on the ground barely a foot away from one onlooker and sent people running for cover.
