Ohio State thought it was in fairly good shape before all the NCAA Tournament pairings were announced, but there were also a bushel of upsets in some of the conference tournament games that took some spots away from at-large teams.
As a result, though most experts had the Buckeyes barely in the field of sixty-eight, there was still some hand-wringing, palm-sweating and nervous energy surrounding the Ohio State name popping up on that bracket.
It may have taken a couple of regions to be unveiled before it happened, but pop up it did. Ohio State was selected as a No. 11 seed and will play against Iowa State on Friday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma (maybe they can plant a flag?).
Anyway, the Buckeyes weren’t one of the teams CBS honed in on for the bubble watch reaction, but @OhioStateHoops has you covered. The Buckeyes official Twitter feed had cameras pointed and ready.
Get a look at the team’s reaction when they found out they were in the field. It’s one of relief no doubt, but ultimately jubilation.
Now it’s off to try and make some magic and spoil some parties of other teams. The Buckeyes have been a wildly inconsistent team this year, but if I were a higher seed, I wouldn’t want to play Chris Holtmann’s crew because when it puts it all together, it can play with anyone.
