Watch: The moment Child of Courage winner sings to the Pride of Manchester crowd after picking up her award

Anya Ottley took the Pride of Manchester Awards crowd by storm when she burst into song on stage.

The inspirational seven-year-old had the crowd on their feet as she belted out the lyrics to 'Fight Song' - recreating the video which saw her go viral on YouTube.

Anya was a big winner at the awards which took place at The Principal Hotel in Manchester.

The Bolton youngster was diagnosed with a very rare form of kidney cancer in November 2017 and underwent major surgery to have her left kidney removed.

Although the surgery was successful, she had to undergo 28 rounds of intensive chemotherapy at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital .

While undergoing treatment, Anya took to the stage at a family friend’s wedding and sang the poignant lyrics ‘this is my fight song, take back my life song, prove I’m alright song’ to a tearful crowd.

The video went viral on YouTube, amassing more than a million views and inspiring people all over the world.

Anya finished her treatment in July 2018 and, alongside her family, has raised nearly £20,000 for the Little Princess Trust and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

She was presented her award by Antony Cotton and Sair Khan, the stars of her favourite soap Coronation Street.

The first ever Pride of Manchester awards, brought to you by the Pride of Britain team, is hosted by Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh and celebrates the ordinary people doing extraordinary things in our region.
