Watch the moment Celtic Park tannoy announcer reveals Rangers' late Kilmarnock collapse

The tannoy announcer reading out the results is somewhat of a dying tradition these days.

Given the instant access to results via social media or live score apps, it's easy to find out what's happening elsewhere pretty much as it happens.

That being said, the phone signal inside Scotland's biggest stadiums such as Celtic Park, Ibrox or Hampden is decidedly ropey.

So, for some Celtic fans it seems, news of Rangers' dramatic late collapse at Rugby Park hadn't quite filtered through.

They'd just watched their team demolish Hearts 5-0, while down in Ayrshire Eamonn Brophy's dramatic goal left Steven Gerrard's title ambitions in ruins.

Clearly building up to the big moment, the Parkhead tannoy announcer leaves the supporters hanging before gleefully reading out the result from Rugby Park.

Wednesday night's events leave Celtic coasting 10 points clear in the race for the flag, in what now looks increasingly to be their ninth on the spin.

Goals from Olivier Ntcham, Christopher Jullien, Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Jozo Simunovic put the league's bottom side to the sword in ruthless fashion.

And, as if that wasn't sending the Hoops faithful home happy enough, those still in the ground were handed a parting gift.
