WATCH: The moment Alabama State OT Tytus Howard became the Texans’ 1st round pick

The Houston Texans made an unexpected move and drafted Alabama State offensive tackle Tytus Howard with their 23rd overall pick in Round 1 of the 2019 NFL draft Thursday evening.

Howard told the Houston media in a conference call Thursday after the moment that he was expecting to be taken in the first round. Nonetheless, his reaction to the phone call from the Texans indicates even if he expected it, the moment blew him away.

Howard is the 20th player drafted from Alabama State and the first ever taken in Round 1.
