THE Discovery large family SUV is the latest model to get hybrid and creature-comfort upgrades as Land Rover makes its machines even more alluring.
The famous British marque’s premium seven-seater also gets updated exterior looks, including new LED headlamp and tail-light designs, revised bumpers and a sporty R-Dynamic trim level.
The engine line-up comprises a 300hp 2.0-litre petrol and three 3.0-litre units with intelligent 48V mild-hybrid technology – a 360hp petrol and 249 and 300hp diesels.
Average fuel economy in the diesels is as good as 34.2mpg, with CO2 levels of 216g/km, while the bigger petrol is the quickest – hitting 60mph in 6.2 seconds.
Inside, the Discovery is equipped with the firm’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, with a much larger 11.4in central touchscreen that’s quicker and easier to use.
And a 12.3in interactive driver display in the instrumentation panel can show 3D sat nav guidance, freeing up the central screen to control other functions.
Tablet holders, USB sockets and on-board 4G wi-fi mean the back seat drivers can be kept entertained and a digital watch Activity Key can be used to access and start the vehicle.
The revised SUV enables software-over-the-air updates, while a head-up display and Land Rover’s ClearSight ground view camera system are options.
An improved off-road system – Terrain Response 2 – is also available, as is an enhanced air con system, while the second row seats have been made more comfortable.
