Watch the Jaguar XK140 MC Roadster that's roaring into the classic car scene

THIS stunning 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Roadster is set to be the star attraction at an online auction next week.

The XK140 was among the fastest cars of its generation – with a top speed in excess of 130mph.

It also helped to focus public attention on Jaguar’s continued success in the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the 1950s. Regarded by many as the most desirable variant, the Roadster accounted for 3356 sales during its three-year production cycle.

This particular car was supplied new to Roger P Ahrenberg, of Maricopa County, Arizona, and was resident in the Grand Canyon state for most of its life.

It is extravagantly specified with a high-performance C-Type cylinder head, electric overdrive for its four-speed manual gearbox and a Special Equipment package.

The car successfully completed the Copperstate 1000 and Californian Mille before being imported to the UK in 2014.

The two-seater has been lovingly cared for and undergone extensive restoration work over the years to keep it in tip-top condition.

It is expected to fetch between £100,000 and £120,000 at a live online auction being run by H&H Classics next Wednesday. Go to www.handh.co.uk to find out more.
