Watch the incredible footage of playful pod of dolphins off the Tynemouth coast

It's one of the most stunning sights in the North East.

And this lucky walker captured the moment a pod of dolphins were swimming off the Tynemouth coast.

The creatures can be seen splashing happily in the sea, to the delight of those watching.

The footage was recorded by Graham Morley, while he was out for a walk on Sunday morning.

There are believed to be around 100 bottlenose dolphins who have made the sea around the North East their home.

And sightings are particularly common between April and September, amrine scientist Ivor Clark previously said.

Last year a pod of dolphins were spotted off the Whitley Bay coast on the hottest day of year.

Meanwhile, one lucky walker managed to see 40 dolphins off the coast of Tynemouth.
