It is one of the most popular firework displays in the North East.
And hundreds of people turned out to watch the Blue Flames Sporting Club bonfire in Benton .
Over 30 minutes of fireworks wowed the huge crowd as families enjoyed the spectacular Guy Fawkes Night display at the Whitley Road venue.
'Ooohs' and 'ahhhhs' echoed through the air as colours illuminated the North Tyneside night sky, while children enjoyed a host of fun rides and attractions.
Parking proved tricky for many in attendance, with some vehicles ditched in front of drives and double yellow lines.
Organisers had requested visitors use public transport on the night in a bid to avoid congestion.
However, as our footage of the final minute of the display shows, the annual event went off with a bang - and left youngsters smiling.
Helen Dalby, Senior Editor for ChronicleLive , was there with her family. She said: “The 2019 display at Blue Flames was a great, family-focused event.
“The fireworks started on time shortly after 7pm and the display was varied and colourful.
“The organisers opened up the gates at the sides of the playing field after the fireworks ended, which helped spectators leave quickly and safely, and helped alleviate the bottleneck at the main gate that has been an issue in previous years.
“It was muddy and chilly but that’s November for you - and spirits seemed high with plenty of ooohs and a round of applause at the end.”
