Watch the brilliant moment thousands across Manchester clapped for our NHS as city's buildings turn blue

Greater Manchester raised the roof tonight in honour of our NHS Heroes.

Mancs stood proud alongside millions of others across the country who took to their doorsteps at 8pm to give a round of applause to thank NHS workers as they battle through the coronavirus pandemic.

Social media was flooded with footage of residents from every corner of Greater Manchester, standing in the streets giving rounds of applause, beeping car horns and setting off fireworks to show their appreciation.

And landmarks, buildings and homes around Greater Manchester were lit up in blue to honour the work of those working to keep us safe and well.

In central Manchester, buildings including NOMA, Mayfield Depot, Manchester Central and Media City all turned blue, alongside countless more around the region.
