WATCH: the Boston Celtics are practicing at Auerbach Center again

It might feel like another lifetime ago, but the Boston Celtics are finally, undeniably, back at work.

Nearly three months to the day that the entire NBA was shut down out of concern for the growing threat of coronavirus transmission, the New England franchise could be seen back at Auerbach Center, the team’s practice facility in Waltham overlooking the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Familiar sights like Jayson Tatum shooting the ball in the familiar backdrop of the state-of-the-art facilities were juxtaposed with less familiar sights, like the Duke product’s mini-Afro, his hair still evidently uncut since going into quarantine in early March.

You can see both Tatum and forward Gordon Hayward putting up shots in the video embedded above; give it a look if you miss seeing the Celtics doing basketball things in Bostonian contexts.

Watching Paul Pierce flop at H-O-R-S-E may have been better than nothing, but even this low-energy practice session is closer to games that count than that will ever be.
