Boston Celtics two way point guard Tremont Waters turned some heads on his assignment with the Maine Red Claws in his rookie season, where he made Danny Ainge and company look like geniuses for drafting him with the 51st pick of the 2019 NBA Draft.
His ability to play like a man among boys despite his 5-foot-10 stature caught the attention of multiple front offices who kicked themselves for passing on the Connecticut native, and earned him some meaningful run with the parent club before the pandemic shut the season down.
Averaging 18 points, 3.2 boards, 7.3 assists and 2 steals per game while shooting 35.4 % from deep on 7.1 attempts per game in his inaugural season, the LSU product connected on 90 treys with the Red Claws this season.
