Watch the adorable moment a Glasgow couple's gender reveal party turns into marriage proposal

A Glasgow couple had two very big reasons to celebrate after their gender reveal party took a surprising turn.

Pregnant Amy Leishman, 25 , was desperate to find out the sex of her baby alongside family and friends and couldn't wait to throw a party to discover whether she was having a boy or a girl.

But partner Kevin McIntyre decided to go the extra mile and add one more surprise to the big day.

The dad-to-be from Clydebank arranged for his and Amy's family to gather together for the big reveal.

But instead of filling the reveal balloon with pink or blue confetti, Kevin added silver glitter - and a very special letter.

Amid the confusion of seeing silver glitter fall out, Amy began to read the note before breaking out into a huge smile.

Kevin then bent down on one knee and brought out a ring surrounded by excited family and friends.

He said: "Will you marry me?" before a delighted Amy agreed and rushed to hug him.

The exciting moment was captured on camera as their families cheered them on.

Speaking exclusively to Glasgow Live, postman Kevin said: "Amy said she wanted to do the gender reveal thing with the balloon a few weeks ago and the idea popped into my head - no pun intended!

"I thought it was a cracking idea as I did always intend on proposing at some point nd it went brilliantly. I couldn’t have asked any better, with all our close friends and family there as well.

"I can’t believe I found someone that makes me so so happy just by looking at her and I want to spend the rest of my life trying to make her feel the same way I do."

The pair met at bingo and went on their first date on Boxing Day 2016. They will now be welcoming their new baby in October.

Kevin added: We'e gonna wait until the baby is born until we start planning the wedding.

"We've got a wee p Halloween baby due on October 31. As yopou can see it’s gonna a be girl which of course as you can tell that’s what Amy was wanting.

"She still can't she still can’t believe it. She told me it was something you see happening in a movie. We're well chuffed."
