Tight end Darren Fells has been a tremendous offseason signing for the Houston Texans, one that very few could have forecast as having such benefits for the team in the passing game.
The 33-year-old managed to catch his sixth touchdown of the season, the most of his career, to help the Texans extend their lead to 9-0 with 5:55 to go in the second quarter Sunday at Wembley Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The lead stayed 9-0 because the Jaguars blocked kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn’s extra point, but Fells’ touchdown was key and proved how significant of a signing his was back in the second wave of free agency in March.
