Backup quarterback Joe Webb has made the most of his extended preseason action.
In the preseason finale versus the Los Angeles Rams Thursday night at NRG Stadium, Webb dropped back and threw a dart to tight end Jerell Adams for a 5-yard touchdown to give the Texans an early 6-0 lead with 9:31 in the first quarter.
A successful extra point from kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn put the Texans up 7-0 on the Rams.
The play is another part of a nice preseason that the former 2010 fifth-round draft pick has put together with second-string A.J. McCarron missing time with a thumb injury on his throwing hand and the club choosing to save starter Deshaun Watson for the regular season.
