WATCH: Texans players play garbage can full court basketball in the locker room

The locker room is referred to as a NFL player’s home. It is where they can unwind, relax, and be themselves. It is also a chance for players to bond and form connections, sometimes with card games or playing dominoes.

However, the Houston Texans took it to a whole other level. In a video posted to Twitter from defensive end J.J. Watt, the team got together and watched a two-on-two “full court” basketball game played with two garbage cans as the hoops.

The reactions on Twitter to the video were positive, and caused some players to miss the camaraderie of the locker room.

Former Texans receiver Cecil Shorts tweeted: “As a retired player this is what I missed most! Nothing like it!”

Former Texans cornerback Charles James also chimed in: “Nothing like the locker room I miss that more than anything.”

The cohesion of a locker room is important as the team embarks upon a 16-game campaign to retain their AFC South title and advance further into the postseason. The Texans have one last preseason game Thursday night before that process can begin.
