The preseason finale is the last chance down roster players will have to showcase their talent and worth, not only to their current team, but also to the rest of the NFL.
Houston Texans linebacker Jesse Aniebonam picked off Los Angeles Rams quarterback Brandon Allen early in the second quarter. The splash play no doubt helped the undrafted rookie from Maryland make a case for himself to the Texans’ coaching staff and the rest of the NFL.
The 6-3, 260-pound linebacker originally played on the defensive line for Maryland. In defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel’s 3-4 scheme, Aniebonam has played more as an outside linebacker.
