WATCH: Texans’ Deshaun Watson, Will Fuller play backyard football on Thanksgiving in Detroit

Football and Thanksgiving are two traditions that go together like turkey and dressing. When the NFL games end Thursday, kids all across America will be playing in their backyards, imitating what they saw in the nationally televised action today.

For the Houston Texans against the Detroit Lions in Week 12, offensive coordinator Tim Kelly may have pulled out a concept from such games.

With 10:17 to go in the fourth quarter and already up 34-17 on the Lions at Ford Field, the Texans ran some gadgetry. Watson handed off to running back Duke Johnson, who moved out to the right side and looked stuffed. However, he threw the ball back towards the middle of the field to Watson.

The two-time Pro Bowler slung the ball to a wide open Will Fuller for the easy touchdown.

Just like you draw up in the dirt in the backyard on Thanksgiving.
