WATCH: Texans CB Jermaine Ponder gets interception versus Rams

It has not been a kind night to Los Angeles Rams backup quarterback Brandon Allen.

However, it has been like Halloween for Houston Texans defenders as undrafted rookie cornerback Jermaine Ponder was the latest to get a treat from Allen. Ponder picked off Allen to stall a Rams drive that was threatening to enter the Texans’ red zone just before halftime.

The former St. Francis product had the fifth-most pass deflections in the NCAA’s FCS in 2018. The former Cleveland Brown and Pittsburgh Steeler was claimed off waivers when the Texans decided the waive cornerback Jermaine Kelly.
