Watch Terrell Burgess’ emotional reaction to being drafted by Rams

Players often call the day they were drafted one of the best moments of their lives. Based on Terrell Burgess’ reaction to being drafted by the Rams in the third round, he probably feels the same way.

Burgess was selected with the 104th overall pick and he was elated to become a member of the Rams. He got the call from Les Snead welcoming him to the team, and it’s one of the best videos you’ll watch today.

Take a look at his emotional reaction and the celebration that ensued after he got off the phone.

Burgess was one of the most popular picks in the eyes of Rams fans, and this video will surely make him even more of a fan-favorite in Los Angeles. The emotion that players show after being selected is one of the best parts of the draft – especially this year with the majority of prospects at home with their families.

Part of the reason for Burgess’ overwhelming excitement and emotion is that he gets to stay close to his family, which is in San Diego.

“Honestly, I didn’t really get a chance to get everybody’s reaction, I was crying so much. But, I know that my mom’s really excited that I get to stay home,” he said on a call with reporters afterwards. “My two sisters still live here in San Diego. My brother lives out of state, but I’m sure he’ll come back home every time I have a home game to come watch the game. They’re definitely very excited that they can just drive up and see me. It’s an exciting time to stay here in Southern California, and it’s great weather here, let me tell you that.”

Burgess will get a chance to contribute right away in the secondary as a backup safety and possibly as the top nickel cornerback in place of Nickell Robey-Coleman, who the Rams moved on from this offseason.
