Watch: Taylor Decker is latest Lion featured on ‘Under the Helmet’

The Detroit Lions Michigan Emmy winning documentary series “Under the Helmet” premieres a new episode at Ford Field ahead of every home game. So far this season, the series has featured Romeo Okwara, Quandre Diggs, and Kerryon Johnson.

Next up: Lions left tackle Taylor Decker.

For those unfamiliar with the series, it is led by Dustyn Blindert (Senior New Media Producer) and Eamonn Reynolds (Director of Football Communications), and it looks at Lions player’s lives off-the-field, giving fans a unique perspective on who the players are as individuals.

The video opens with Decker discussing his fortune to fulfill a life long dream of playing for Ohio State and how guidance from his older brother helped him stay on the football path. He goes on to discuss his other members of his family and how they have impacted his life by setting examples of how to be quality people.

The video then shifts to football and how much Decker appreciates the opportunity to play in the NFL and how the players in the locker room set an example of what it means to down to earth people. He goes on to mention how their high moral standards help reassure him of the type of man he wants to be.

Decker finishes the video by discussing his wife and how he appreciates the sacrifices she makes for him to follow his career path.
