Watch: T.J. Hockenson’s first NFL catch goes for 28 yards

The Detroit Lions opened the game in 12 personnel and shifted first-round pick T.J. Hockenson into the slot. The ball didn’t go his way but it illustrated they’re willing to put him in situations to get him the ball.

When Matthew Stafford finally did look his way, Hockenson lined up slight split off right and was set back from the line. A simple square out and Stafford got him the ball roughly 11-yards downfield. Hockenson, running free, secured the ball and turned it up field for a 28 yard gain.
