Watch Stirling street turn into 'water park' as youngsters dive through floods

This is the brilliant moment youngsters in Stirling refused to let torrential downpours let them down - by turning the street into a water park.

In a hilarious clip shared on Twitter , three young lads could be seen diving down the street as it began to flood on Monday evening.

More than 12,000 people have watched the moment the youngsters splash about, much to the delight of passers by.

The bizarre clip was filmed in the city's Friars Street by Meave Park at around 8pm tonight.

Later in the clip, her friend Harry Whyte can be seen going for a "backwards crawl" down Port Street.

Meave captioned the video: "Stirling water park open for business kiddos".

Flooding is causing chaos across parts of Scotland today, with police in Stirling issuing a warning to locals amid a number of road closures.

A statement on their Facebook read: "Flash Flooding has been reported throughout areas of Stirling tonight.

"Please consider your travel before making any journeys. We're trying to build a picture of the worst-hit areas."

Elsewhere in the city, Demi Falconer captured the moment a man could be seen paddling down the street in a boat.

She wrote: "Welcome to Stirling where there’s a guy canoeing in the middle of the road".

Earlier we told how flash flooding .

The deluge started at around 3.30pm with pictures showing one motorist perched on the roof of their car as water surrounded their vehicle.

Transport services have also been hit across the city, including a tram which had to be evacuated in Bankhead on the western outskirts of the city

Pictures show passengers sheltered by umbrellas being funneled off a stranded carriage.
