Watch: Stewarton shop owner left disgusted after thieves raid his store

A Stewarton shop owner says he's been left disgusted after his shop was raided by thieves at the weekend.

Around £300 worth of e-cigarettes were pinched after destructive thugs kicked in a window at Your Home Store on the town's Main Street at around 1.27am on Saturday.

The lucrative vape devices were sitting in the window for the thieves to simply lift from the broken window.

The whole incident was captured on Abdul Rauf's CCTV.

Abdul, who's owned his shop in Stewarton for around 15 years told the Kilmarnock Standard: "It's left me very disgusted.

"People do silly things and folk really shouldn't be out at that time of the morning doing things like that.

"I feel shame for them that they felt the need to do this.

"Stewarton is a small place and people will find out who did this.

"I've had the shop for 15 years and the same things happened around about a year ago. It's sad.

"But I love Stewarton and the people that live here. They all know my family."

Abdul says he's contacted police about the incident.

Posting an appeal on Facebook. Abdul added: "So sad unfortunately last night these boys smacked my window and stole e-cigarettes worth £300.

"I request if they can return or otherwise I'll take things further. [I] also have another angle recording.

"Kindly inform me if anyone has any information I'll keep it confidential."

Police told the Kilmarnock Standard they are investigating the incident with a spokesman stating: “Police Scotland can confirm that a report has been made and enquiries are ongoing to determine who is responsible.

“Anyone with information should contact PC Cuthbert quoting incident number 0125 for August 31.”
