Watch Steven Gerrard smash Rangers hero's viral challenge as he itches for return of football

We're all suffering from the lack of football in our lives and social media challenges are all the rage at the moment, as a result.

Toilet roll got the ball rolling in the first week of lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But now we have moved onto your traditional keepy-ups thanks to former Rangers star Kevin Thomson.

The former Hibs man, who runs his own coaching academy, has tasked current and former players to see how many touches they can get off a wall, with alternate feet, before hitting the ground.

And Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was the latest to step up to the plate and it's another reminder that he's still got something in the locker following his Liverpool playing days.

He made an impresive 50 passes off the wall and the challenged his former Reds pal and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp to do the same.

The likes of Billy Gilmour and Oli McBurnie have also given it a go as the challenge continues to spread across Twitter.

You can check out Gerrard's attempt using the video player above. Can you do better?
