Watch Steven Gerrard's Rangers press conference in full as Alfredo Morelos inquiry leads to impassioned response

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is certain Alfredo Morelos will rediscover his goalscoring touch after his Betfred Cup nightmare.

The Colombian suffered a day to forget at Hampden as he passed up a host of chances and missed a penalty in the 1-0 defeat to rivals Celtic.

But Gerrard believes the 25-goal striker will be back to his very best as Rangers gear up for their Europa League date with destiny against Young Boys.

A draw will seal the Premiership side's place in the last 32 and a victory will see them emerge Group G as group winners.

It's all on the line and Gerrard is adamant Morelos will be ready to go after coming in for flak in the wake of his misfiring display at the national stadium.

He said: "I think it's pretty normal, in terms of Alfredo.

"You expect that at big clubs, if you haven't scored against a certain opposition, especially your rivals.

"There's going to be noise and people talking about it from the outside.

"What's important for me is what happens on the inside and he continues to work hard and be the best he can be.

"I think Sunday aside, he's been phenomenal for this team in terms of goal numbers and what he's done, certainly in this competition."

Meanwhile, the Ibrox boss revealed he'll be without a pair of first-team stars for the clash with the Swiss side on home turf.

He added: "(Filip) Helander won't be available, he had a scan on his foot today. (Steven) Davis won't make tomorrow but won't be too far away.

"(Jordan) Jones isn't available for selection but played 60 minutes yesterday and is getting close. (George) Edmundson missed training today with an illness but should make it."
