Watch: Steph Curry crushes drive at American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe

While he’s known for threatening opposing defenses with his deadly long-distance shooting, Steph Curry showed off his power from the tee box on the first day of the American Century Championship golf tournament in Lake Tahoe on Thursday.

The Golden State Warriors point guard shared a clip from his blast during the “long drive contest” on Thursday. Curry crushed a bomb down the center of the fairway and celebrated with the crowd in attendance. After launching the ball from the tee, Curry bat flipped his club and catered to the crowd by firing them up.

Thursday’s pre-tournament festivities marked Curry’s 10th appearance in the American Century Championship tournament at Edgewood Golf Course. Curry is coming off a ninth-place finish in the 2021 edition of the tournament. The reigning NBA Finals Most Valuable Player has finished as high as fourth in past tournaments.

Curry’s round is set to start at 9:50 a.m. PT on Friday.
