While the Boston Celtics quietly churn their way through the 2021-22 NBA season, a seed planted by the team overseas is showing signs of growth in stashed guard Juhann Begarin.
The Celtics’ No. 45 overall pick of the 2020 NBA draft has been playing well overseas in Europe, looking good while manning the backcourt for Paris Basketball in the French LNB Pro A league. The native of Les Abymes, Guadeloupe recently hung 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals while playing against Limoges in a regular-season contest between the two clubs.
Shooting 7-of-12 from the floor, 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and a slightly worrisome 2-of-5 from the free-throw line in 35 minutes of playing time hints at Begarin’s potential at the next level should he come over to the NBA in 2022-23.
