WATCH: Staff and kids at Wishaw nursery pay tribute to NHS workers

Staff and kids at a Wishaw nursery have brought smiles to many by making a short video paying tribute to NHS workers.

Youngsters at the Kirktonholme Nursery, based in the grounds of University Hospital Wishaw, made the Tik-Tok video ahead of a second nationwide clap to show our appreciation to the workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

The video has since went viral with the video being made all the more special by the fact many kids at the nursery are the sons and daughters of health staff working on the frontline.

Nursery manager Dawn McGavin said: “We’ve had our windows and doors painted with rainbows and other pictures, which has really brightened up the place.

“It’s been good to try and keep a sense of normality for the children and provide their parents with the reassurance they are being well looked after while they are doing their very important jobs at this time

“Because we are based at the hospital a lot of the parents of the children are NHS staff and also other key workers.

“We asked the staff and kids to make a video and we have been blown away by the reaction.”
