Watch: Sony Michel joins Jimmy Kimmel; recalls funny moment from Super Bowl after-party

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Patriots rookie running back Sony Michel recalled seeing Tom Brady celebrate with his friends and family in his own private section at the Super Bowl after-party.

We don’t know if the Georgia great was permitted to join Brady in his special spot, but the rookie running back certainly could have delivered a good argument for it after the game he had on Sunday.

“When I got [to the party], I kind of expected it to be, like, the players, the parents. It was more people than I thought,” Michel said. “So, he [Tom Brady] kind of had his own V.I.P. area at the top.”

After rushing 18 times for 94 yards and one touchdown in the Patriots’ Super Bowl victory, Michel became a household name in front of a national audience on the biggest stage.

But even with all his success, while celebrating the win with his teammates after the game Michel said he still felt like a fan when he looked up and saw Brady celebrating in style.

“So, I kind of felt like a fan. Everybody had their phones out, so I just pulled my phone out,” Michel said, miming snapping a photo. “Even though I just got off the field with him.”

Michel told Kimmel he tried to hold onto the game ball, and added that he hoped the equipment manager left it in his locker.
