Watch: Soccer AM's comical sketch on Portadown striker's muddy miss

Portadown striker Adam Salley has become an internet sensation - whether he likes it or not.

Everyone has seen his comical 'assist' in the recent 7-1 win over Queen's University.

Salley raced clear before dinking the ball past the goalkeeper for what looks like a certain goal, only for the ball to get stuck in the mud.

Ports teammate Chris Lavery pounced to finish off, just as Salley was beginning a celebratory dance.

Salley went on to have a good day, though, scoring a second half hat-trick against the students.

But nobody seems to remember that, as all the headlines have centred around THAT muddy miss.

And it proved such a hit that Soccer AM included it on their weekend show, even using boxing world champion Josh Warrington in their comical sketch.

Salley admitted after the incident: "It's been really strange going viral for a goal I didn't score - although I suppose I can claim it as an assist.

"The reaction has been crazy. I follow a popular football account 433 on Instagram and footage of the goal has almost four million views already. It's unbelievable."
