WATCH: Skyy Moore elevates to catch pass from Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

The offseason work continues for Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and a group of receivers that he’s hosting down in Texas.

It didn’t take long for some clips to emerge of second-year Chiefs WR Skyy Moore, who has been down in Texas with Mahomes from the get-go. The latest clip shared on the team’s Twitter page is one of the more impressive throws from Mahomes where he’s targeting Moore.

In the video, Mahomes is working on a “hands-up drill” with throwing coach Jeff Christiansen. Basically, they’re trying to work on Mahomes’ launch point for the football when a defender in front of him is trying to get their hands up to bat down the pass.

Mahomes gets the ball just over the stick that Christiansen is holding, throwing a beautiful spiral to Moore. Given the nature of the drill, the ball is a little high, but Moore is able to elevate and pluck it out of the sky with his fingertips before turning mid-air and hauling the pass into his body.

Moore finished the 2023 NFL season with a combined 27 receptions for 267 yards and one touchdown between the playoffs and the regular season. Fans are hopeful that that he can greatly increase that production with an offseason of work and more opportunity to thrive within the Chiefs’ offense. The glimpses of what we’re currently seeing from Moore out of Texas certainly make for a good start.
