WATCH: Should the Boston Celtics start Dennis Schroder over Marcus Smart?

Is the experiment putting veteran Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart at the point costing the team opportunities leading to losses in a season seeing so many razor-thin losses materializing? And perhaps more importantly, does the team have a solution under their noses to solve said problem simply by shuffling the roster a little instead?

So far this season, when you look at the numbers, a legitimate case for running Smart off of the bench can be made. Veteran guard Dennis Schroder is averaging more points (14.0 to 8.6), rebounds (3.9 to 3.4), and assists (6.0 to 4.0) per game despite playing nearly 4 minutes per game less than the Flower Mound native, with Smart only having an advantage in steals (2.2 to 1.3) per game.

The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “The Garden Report” dive into this question and all things Marcus Smart this season in the clip embedded below.
