Toronto police confirmed via their Twitter account that two victims suffered “serious but not life-threatening injuries,” after a shooting at Nathan Phillips Square amidst the Raptors’ NBA championship parade.
[UPDATE]: Later on Monday, Toronto police confirmed that four people had been shot, but all injuries were non-life-threatening.
The Toronto police account tweeted just before 4:30 p.m. ET that two people were in custody and that two firearms had been recovered following the incident in the parade celebrating the historic win.
The Raptors’ celebration continued despite the shooting according to a video shared on Twitter. Police are continuing to investigate the situation.
