WATCH: Shaq latest NBA star to help those in need, finds family new home

The final week of the NBA preseason has been a week of giving for some of the biggest names associated with the league.

Harrison Barnes and his wife are helping pay for the funeral costs for Atatiana Jefferson, who was killed in the Dallas area when she was shot by a former police officer.

Michael Jordan opened a health care facility for the underprivileged community in Charlotte, making a $7 million investment in the area in need.

Now, Shaquille O’Neal is giving a house to a woman whose teenage son was shot and paralyzed in Atlanta in August. Isaiah Payton was leaving a high school football game when a stray bullet hit his spine, leaving him immobile from the chest down. The young man is still hospitalized as he can’t return to a non-handicap accessible home.

O’Neal told WXIA in Atlanta that he found Payton’s mother a house and is going to pay her rent for a year, plus provide her for furniture for the new home.

“It’s sad because her son is paralyzed from the chest down and no mother should have to go to that,” O’Neal said.
